Helping you recover from
the effects of Relational Trauma

Relational trauma, whether rooted in childhood or adult relationships, can shape how we see ourselves and relate to those around us.

If you need emergency help > contact numbers and resources.

Did you grow up with caregivers who were dismissive, self-absorbed, or emotionally unavailable?

Have you experienced similar dynamics in adult relationships, where your emotional needs felt unmet, leaving you feeling unheard, rejected, or unsupported?

Did you know that...

Relational trauma arises within the context of relationships, often characterized by a power imbalance. This can occur during childhood with parents or attachment figures, but it can also manifest in adult relationships. Relational trauma is marked by repeated disruptions in emotional bonds that often go unresolved.

As a child, your survival depended entirely on your caregivers, making you especially vulnerable to fear, anxiety, and pain in response to rejection or emotional neglect from those you trusted most. Similarly, in adulthood, relational patterns can evoke those same feelings of vulnerability and distress.

Over time, the unresolved wounds from relational trauma—whether from childhood or adult experiences—can lead to the development of complex PTSD, an adaptive response to trauma that affects your emotional regulation, sense of identity, and relationships.

Relational Trauma has profound repercussions on your present life and can lead to...

  • Having difficulty regulating your emotions, thinking, and behaviour
  • Developing rigid psychological defences for self-protection
  • Being hypervigilant, anxious, and easily triggered
  • Loss of trust and unresolved grief
  • Depression, confusion, and shame
  • Feeling disconnected and engaging in high-risk behaviours
  • Repeating similar painful cycles in your life
  • Boundary issues in relationships
  • Unexplained physical symptoms

Healing is possible

I am an Integrative Counselling Therapist helping adults heal from the wounds of relational trauma, nurture emotional resilience and build a secure sense of self. Together, we create a safe space where you can reconnect with your inner strength, make sense of your experience, and move forward with more clarity and trust.
