"Our wounds are often the openings into
the best and most beautiful part of us"

~ Dr David Richo

I offer Emotionally Focused and integrative therapy to adults (18+) in Brighton (UK) and online. My work focuses on supporting those going through relational trauma, anxiety, low mood, grief, and other emotional challenges – creating a safe space to feel understood, rediscover inner strengths, and grow the resilience to meet life’s ups and downs.

Depending on your needs, I offer short-term, long-term, and Single Session Therapy (SST).

Sessions are £65 for a 50-minute appointment.

I take an integrative approach to both short- and long-term therapy, incorporating Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and trauma-informed modalities. Rooted in attachment science, EFIT is a humanistic experiential model that supports emotional processing and fosters secure, meaningful relationships with oneself and others.

Relational trauma often requires an integrated approach to address the multiple layers of its impact. This blended approach offers you a more personalized experience to counselling and therapy.

If you’re curious about how Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy works, this short video from Dr Sue Johnson offers a simple, heartfelt explanation.

Counselling or Therapy?

I often use the words counselling and therapy interchangeably, but there can be a difference in focus and length.

Counselling is usually short-term (6 to 12 sessions). It offers support during a challenging period, such as a life transition, loss, or a specific stressor – creating space to process your feelings and regain balance.

Therapy is often long-term (12+ sessions). It focuses on exploring deeper patterns and relationship issues, offering the opportunity for lasting shifts in how you understand yourself, your emotions, and your connections to others.

Whether short or long-term, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) offers a compassionate, evidence-based way to create meaningful change by addressing core emotional and relational patterns.

Single Session Therapy (SST) is a one-time, focused session to address a specific issue, with the option of further support if needed.

I offer single sessions for when something specific arises. These sessions are most effective for clients who have worked with me for at least six sessions, as we can draw on our existing therapeutic relationship.

Arrange an appointment

Get in touch by using the contact form below. Together, we can agree on the best day and time for your first session. I will then send you a confirmation email with session details, along with any relevant information.

Attend your first session

In our first session, we’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy and and discuss aspects of your background that feel relevant to you. This is also a space for you to ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and see whether working together feels right for you.

Choose the best option for you

If we decide to continue working together, we can agree on an amount of ongoing sessions. Should we find that I am not the right therapist for you, I can signpost as appropriate.

A compassionate space to heal from relational trauma, emotional pain, and the weight of life’s challenges.

All queries are welcome. If you are reaching out about booking a session, feel free to share a little about what’s bringing you to consider therapy — if that feels right at this stage — and let me know your availability (e.g., daytime or evenings, and whether you prefer in-person or online).

If you don’t see my reply in your inbox, please check your junk or spam folder and mark my email as safe.
