I offer integrative trauma-informed counselling and Emotionally Focused Therapy for adults (18+) in Brighton (UK) and online. My work focuses on supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief, the impact of relational trauma, and other emotional challenges – creating a safe space to feel understood, rediscover inner strengths, and cultivate resilience to meet life’s ups and downs.
In this short video, Dr Sue Johnson, the founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy, offers a simple, heartfelt explanation.
Counselling or Therapy?
I use the words counselling and therapy interchangeably. The length and focus of our work depends on your individual needs. Some people seek short-term support around a specific difficulty, while others choose longer-term therapy to explore deeper emotional patterns and relationships.
how Therapy supports you
Our time together — whether short or long term — can help you to:
- Understand patterns that may be affecting your life and relationships
- Process difficult emotions with greater awareness and compassion
- Develop a deeper connection to yourself and your needs
- Build greater emotional resilience and self-connection

Initial Enquiry
Get in touch to arrange a free 20-minute introductory call or book your first session directly if you prefer. The introductory call is an opportunity to ask any questions you might have and get a sense of whether working together might be a good fit.
First Session
Our first session is an opportunity to begin exploring what has brought you to counselling and how it is affecting your life and relationships. Together, we will start to make sense of your experiences and emotions in a way that feels safe, supportive, and respectful of your pace.
Ongoing work
There is no expectation to continue beyond the first session unless it feels right for you. If we both decide to continue, we'll discuss the frequency of sessions that is most appropriate for your needs and check in regularly to make sure the work remains helpful.
