I am committed to protecting your privacy and the trust that you put on me.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – Data Protection Act 2018

This privacy and data retention policy statement explains how I, Patrizia Jones, will use and protect any information that you give me when you use my professional services. This policy is effective from the 7th of August 2024.

If you contact me by email, I may receive information such as your name, email address, telephone number and any information you choose to include in your message.

I use personal information provided to me through this website for the purpose of responding to enquiries and communicating with people who are interested in my counselling services.
I do not sell your personal information or use it for unrelated marketing purposes.
I take reasonable steps to keep personal information secure and protect it from unauthorised access, loss or disclosure.
My website is hosted through GoDaddy, and my email communications are provided through Microsoft Outlook/Hotmail. These services have their own privacy and security arrangements.
If you subsequently become a counselling client, information relating to your counselling is handled in accordance with the separate privacy information provided to you before your first session.
My website uses cookies and similar technologies.
Some cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. Other cookies may be used to understand how visitors use the website and to help improve it.
Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, you can choose whether to accept them through the cookie settings provided on the website.

My website may contain embedded video content. When you view or interact with embedded content, the provider of that content may collect information or use cookies in accordance with its own privacy policy.

I keep information relating to website enquiries only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the enquiry and for any appropriate follow-up.
If you become a counselling client, information relating to your counselling is covered by my separate client privacy and data retention policy.

Phone numbers: I retain your phone numbers on my phone for contact concerning appointments and information. I will retain your phone number for up to six months after our working agreement ends unless we agree otherwise. 

Email details: I will delete any emails on a regular basis. Or at the end of our working relationship as appropriate. If there has been other material exchanged by email, you can advise me, or we can decide together what to do with this. 

If you are a client, I will not engage with you on social media. This is to protect your privacy as well as our therapeutic work.

You have rights in relation to your personal information, including the right to request access to information I hold about you and, where applicable, to request correction, deletion or restriction of its use.
The rights available to you depend on the circumstances and the lawful basis for processing your information.

I use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates to verify our identity to your browser and to encrypt any data you give us.
Whenever information is transferred between us, you can check that it is done so using SSL by looking for a closed padlock symbol or other trust mark in your browser’s URL bar or toolbar.

Online Counselling: I use platforms that have a high level of security (data is encypted in transit and at rest).

If you are not happy with my privacy policy or if you have any complaint, I sincerely hope that you would feel comfortable to discuss this with me so that I can correct any error.
In alternative, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). This can be done at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.  

I may update this privacy notice from time to time as necessary. The terms that apply to you are those posted here on my website on the day you access it. If you are my client, GDPR information is also emailed to you prior to our first session. Where appropriate, I will notify you of any significant changes by email or in person.
